Falling for Prints

With only a few short weeks of Summer left to go we can finally focus on the exciting offerings for Fall.  The Fall 2012 ready-to-wear season forecasted a return to warm colors in shades of olive, amber and gray that transitioned from clothing to accessories, including this season’s eyewear.

“Imbuing the embroideries, textile patters, flourishes and embellishments of faraway lands with an old-world elegance [brought] a regal sophistication to Fall 2012″ noted Harper’s Bazaar. Lace textures have transitioned from the runway to delicate details on the latest crop of frames, which compliments the layered textures of the season.

The richness and romanticism of Fall style is also nicely contrasted with bold and confident shapes and textures. Style.com noted that Gucci presented “rich tapestry jacquards, plush velvets, a hothouse floral printed on a ground of black, and a palette that revolved around plum, bottle green, espresso, and jet.”

Glasses present a unique opportunity to intertwine this season’s most memorable looks into everyday style by creating a focal piece that doesn’t overwhelm.
